Thank you for your interest in renting space from Playwrights Horizons (PH). We offer two rehearsal studios for rental in our building, in addition to the Peter Jay Sharp Theater (128 or 96 seats) and the Mainstage Theater (198 seats). Conveniently located on 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues, Playwrights Horizons is only a few blocks away from Times Square, many subway lines and the Port Authority bus terminal.
In addition, space is available at 440 Studios, located at 440 Lafayette Street, just south of Astor Place, in the heart of Greenwich Village. With 19 rehearsal studios of various sizes on our third and fourth floor including three theatrical spaces, 440 Studios has space to accommodate groups both big and small. Our studios are available for classes, dance (except tap), auditions, open calls, seminars, meetings, and rehearsals.
Due to frequent activities scheduled in the theaters/rehearsal studios, walk-in visits can not be accommodated.

REHEARSAL STUDIO INFO
Playwrights Horizons has two studios available for auditions, rehearsals, meetings, and staged readings. Studio hours are typically 10am-10pm, excluding holidays. Please contact us for specific hours and availability.
The rehearsal studios rent on an hourly or weekly basis.

PETER JAY SHARP THEATER INFO
The Peter Jay Sharp Theater is an intimate theater with 128 seats which can be converted to 96 seats to meet AEA showcase contracts. With lobby space, a booth, two dressing rooms equipped with bathrooms and showers, and seasonal sound/lighting packages, the Sharp Theater is suitable for anything from invited readings up to full productions.
